How did you get started working in sports?: The Hawks is my first sports job thus far. I found my position here through networking with friends, contacts and acquaintences throughout the Boise valley and soon found myself in contact with Bryan McMartin. After several interviews I found myself signing away my summer to endless nights of baseball. Nothing better, eh?
Best moment in sports?: Boise State Fiesta Bowl(s)!!
Favorite part about working in baseball?: Cliché, but I would have to go with the people. You will never meet a more lively and energetic crowd than the one that works here at the Hawks.
What advice do you have for those people who are interesting in working in sports?: Ask around. Odds are good that someone you know knows someone in the industry. Use all the contacts/connections you have! Also, an outstanding work ethic and acclimation to long hours is found to be useful. Or at least that's what I've concluded thus far.
One thing people don't know about one of your co-workers at the Boise Hawks?: Sam likes tequila (cheap or top shelf); David wears cowboy boots everyday no matter how hot/cold it may be; Chad has a TV that's too big for life; Todd's left tail light is out.
If you didn't work in sports or with the Boise Hawks what would you do?: I'd be slinging plates at Bardenay! Or taking summer school. I'm happy it's baseball.
What are things you enjoy doing when you are not working?: I spend majority of my free time outdoors as much as I can. I am an avid runner and frequent the Boise greenbelt and trails regularly with my dogs. Anything outdoors with sunshine is where I like to be.
What are three things in life that you can't live without?: 1) Diet Mountain Dew 2) Clean sheets 3) Good people
If you could "un-invent" one thing, what would it be? Facebook. Definitely Facebook. There is not one thing in my life that can waste so much of my day.
Other fun facts about you: I've played piano since I was 3; I sing a mad national anthem; I have double jointed fingers and toes; I iron AND starch my bedding after washing it.
