SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Today, in a sultry Pepsi Stadium Club at Four Winds Field, the Mayor of South Bend and South Bend Cubs' staff announced that award-winning country artists Joe Nichols and Easton Corbin will co-headline the 2nd annual South Bend Country Fest, which will be held on June 27.
South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg and representatives of the City's Park joined Joe Hart, President of the South Bend Cubs, to make the announcement. The city and South Bend Parks and Recreation are partnering with the South Bend Cubs and B-100 FM radio for a second year in a row to bring South Bend Country Fest to Four Winds Field.
"We're pleased to offer an evening of great country music in downtown South Bend," Mayor Pete Buttigieg says. "This is another opportunity to enjoy the great atmosphere at Four Winds Field and help enhance our community in the process."
"It's cold outside, but we're making this announcement in a room with the temperature almost 80 degrees to emphasize how hot it will be on June 27th, and how hot these country artists are," said Joe Hart, President of the South Bend Cubs. "These are some of the hottest artists in country music today."
Two other popular national acts will join Nichols and Corbin. Natalie Stovall will open the concert. Her performance will be followed by Trick Pony.
Part of the proceeds from Country Fest 2015 will once again be used to help South Bend Park and Recreation Department raise funds to make the City's parks and its programming more accessible to those with special needs.
Tickets for the 2nd annual Country Fest event go on sale March 27 at the Four Winds Field box office, online and at the South Bend Parks and Recreation main office on O'Brien Street. From March 27 until April 27, Early Bird Special tickets will cost $25. After April 27, the cost per ticket will be $35. Anyone who purchases a concert ticket will receive a complimentary ticket to see the South Bend Cubs play on any Sunday through Thursday of their choice during the 2015 season.
Joe Nichols has released eight studio albums, resulting in 14 Top 40 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts, including "Brokenheartsville", "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off", "Gimmie That Girl", "Sunny and 75", and the RIAA-certified Gold single "Yeah", as well as five other Top Ten entries.
Easton Corbin signed with his first country label in 2009 and his first two No. 1 hits the following year: "A Little More Country Than That" and "Roll With It". As of 2013, Corbin has sold over 470,000 albums and over 2 million singles.
Trick Pony has produced eight charted singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. Natalie Stovall & the Drive released their debut single "Baby Come On with It" in February 2014.
