Comcast Sportsnet Chicago to Televise Friday's game between the A's/Cubs

                LAS VEGAS: The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) and the Las Vegas 51s professional baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets & the 2013 & 2014 Pacific Southern Division Champions, announced today that Comcast SPORTSNET (Chicago) will televise the game on Friday, March 13 featuring the Chicago Cubs vs. Oakland A's at 5:05 p.m. at Cashman Field. The A's will then broadcast Saturday's contest (March 14) on KGMZ 95.7 FM The Game at 12:05 p.m.

                Big League Weekend features the Spring Training games with the Cubs-A's and the two-game series will feature split-squads.

                Tickets are on sale at the America First Credit Union Box Office at Cashman Field and also through Ticketmaster (1-800-745-3000, www.ticketmaster.com). Ticketmaster outlets are located at selected Smith's Food & Drug. The individual game ticket prices are $35 for reserved seats, berm and grandstand; $45 for plaza seats and $55 for field seats. 

                Len Kasper (play-by-play) and Jim Deshaies (analyst) will call Friday's action from the Silver State on Comcast SPORTSNET.

                Vince Cotroneo and Ray Fosse will call Saturday's action on 95.7 FM The Game. 

                "We are excited that Comcast SPORTSNET will broadcast the opener of Big League Weekend on Friday," 51s President/COO Don Logan said. "The television broadcast will provide tremendous exposure for the city of Las Vegas and also the opportunity for the LVCVA to advertise into a key tourism market. Saturday's radio broadcast will also provide exposure for the LVCVA in the Bay Area on the A's network."

                The Cubs will be returning to Cashman Field for the 11th straight season and 14th all-time appearance in Las Vegas for Big League Weekend (1993, 1994, 1999, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014).

                In 2014, the Cubs total attendance for the Big League Weekend two-day event was 19,514. The New York Mets defeated the Cubs, 9-4, on March 15 before a crowd of 9,106. The Cubs then defeated the Mets, 6-3, on March 16 before a sellout crowd of 10,408.

                The A's will be making their fourth all-time Big League Weekend appearance (fifth overall to Las Vegas). Oakland's all-time Las Vegas appearances include: 1994, 1996 (first six games of the MLB season vs. Toronto and Detroit), 1997 and 2000.

                The 51s will open their 33rd season in the Silver State on Thursday, April 9 against the Fresno Grizzlies, Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros, at Chukchansi Park in Northern California. Las Vegas' home opener is Friday, April 17 against the Grizzlies at 7:05 p.m. at Cashman Field.
