Thunder host 'Flood Relief Day'
The Thunder will donate $3 for all regularly priced tickets ($9) purchased for the game to local flood relief efforts.
The Thunder offer a FUNdraising program to non-profit groups in which the Thunder charge a special rate of $6 per ticket to the group. The group then in turn sells the tickets for the full $9 face value with the difference going straight to the non-profit.
"We've been doing our FUNdraising Program for years and have helped hundreds of charities and non-profits," said Thunder General Manager Brad Taylor. "This is an opportunity for us to apply the same idea to a cause that will help a lot of people in our area recover from this devastating flood."
The 1:05 p.m. game on Aug. 5 is a make-up from the game scheduled for Wednesday, June 7 against the Bowie Baysox that was postponed due to rain. The "Flood Relief Day" game will be the first of the "Day- Night" split-admission doubleheader on Saturday, Aug. 5. The first game will start at 1:05 p.m. with the regularly scheduled nightcap beginning at 7:05 p.m.
