Gotta Be The Jerseys
One growing trend in Minor League Baseball is the use of special alternate jerseys throughout the season. While often times wacky, these threads are used to raise awareness for a number of great causes.
The Shorebirds will be donning four different special jerseys at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium in addition to traditional white and black tops. Here's a sneak peak of what they will look like, and who they will help.

1996 Throwback Jersey
Dates: Opening Night and all Friday home games
Charity: Shorebirds Community Fund
In case you didn't know, 2015 will be the 20th season of Shorebirds Baseball. To honor the team's history, we'll be wearing recreations of the jerseys the team wore during our inaugural season in 1996. While the 'Birds were an affiliate of the Expos that year, the uniform is still inspired by the Baltimore Orioles as evident by the colors and the script.
At the end of the season, the jerseys will be auctioned off to benefit the Shorebirds Community Fund.

PRMC Pink Pitch Jersey
Date: Saturday, May 9
Charity: Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute
A popular jersey among Shorebirds fans will be returning in 2015. The PRMC Pink Pitch jersey will be a slant on the traditional home white jersey, but it will feature a pink Shorebirds script that fans with sharp eyes will remember from our Orioles throwbacks in 2014. The sleeves will feature a pink baseball stich trim around the arms.
During the game that night, the jerseys will be auctioned off to benefit the Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute, which is based in Salisbury at PRMC.

Patriotic Jersey
Date: Friday, July 3
Charity: Military Assistance Program
Everybody loves the 4th of July, and while we aren't lucky enough to be home that day, we'll still be having an Independence Day Bash on July 3 at Perdue Stadium.
The players will be getting into the fun with these patriotic uniforms, which will also feature the Shorebirds' throwback script. There will be a number of nods to the U.S. Armed Forces on the jersey, including the emblems of all five branches above the numbers on the back, and the emblem of the VFW will be featured on the right sleeve.
Again, a silent auction will be held during the game for the game-used jerseys to benefit the VFW's Military Assistance Program. The organization helps families of military members before, during and after deployment.

Christmas in July Jersey
Date: Saturday, July 18
Charity: Shorebirds Community Fund
The Shorebirds are going the extra mile for our Christmas in July night, as we'll be wearing Christmas-themed jerseys to add to the festivities. The players on the roster that night will be channeling their inner St. Nick with these Santa suit tops. They will be auctioned off during the game to benefit the Shorebirds Community Fund.
