Restovich goes deep twice in win

August 5, 2006
One night after being held to two hits, the Iowa offense exploded for four homers in a 6-0 victory over the Tacoma Rainiers on Saturday night. Micah Hoffpauir and Augie Ojeda each had solo shots and Michael Restovich added a solo and a three run blast in the Cubs ninth shoutout win of the season.

Starting pitcher Angel Guzman threw seven strong innings, giving up just three hits and walking one while striking out six. Brandon Emanuel and Kerry Ligtenberg mopped up with an inning of scoreless relief each.

With the two homers, Restovich led the Iowa offense with three hits, two runs scored and 4 RBI. He upped his team-leading homerun total to 21 and his team-leading RBI total to 63.

The Portland Beavers come into town on Sunday to take on the Cubs in a four game set after taking three of four from the Omaha Royals. First pitch is slated for 1:05 p.m. CT.
