SOUTH BEND, Ind. - South Bend Cubs team officials urge fans who want to be a part of Opening Day to get their tickets soon. All single seat tickets for the April 9 home opener against the Bowling Green Hot Rods are sold out; only lawn seats are available.

"A sell-out crowd is nearly a guarantee," said Joe Hart, President of the South Bend Cubs. "The minute we announced our affiliation with the Chicago Cubs, our phones began ringing with people asking about tickets to the first game. There is a tremendous wave of energy surrounding this affiliation. Our fans know they can expect a stellar experience."

So far, that experience includes the ceremonial first pitch to be thrown by Chicago Cubs President of Operations Theo Epstein and the National Anthem sung by famed Chicago singer Wayne Messmer. Other activities planned for the night include a rally towel giveaway, a pre-game concert by Blammo, a magnet schedule giveaway and a fireworks extravaganza. Stu, the official mascot of the South Bend Cubs, will also make his first appearance.

Lawn seat tickets are $6 in advance and $7 day of game. For more information, contact the South Bend Cubs box office at 574-235-9988 or visit SouthBendCubs.com
