Romero drives Red Wings

Alex Romero went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Glenn Williams hit a three-run homer as visiting Rochester rolled past Charlotte, 11-2, on Sunday.

Romero ripped a two-run double in the fourth inning to give the Red Wings (65-51) a 3-0 lead. He singled in the sixth, walked and scored in the eighth and singled and scored in the ninth.

Williams' sixth homer highlighted a five-run ninth for Rochester, which earned a split of the four-game series.

Scott Baker (4-2) picked up the win after allowing two runs on eight hits over 7 1/3 innings. He struck out six, walked one and retired the first 12 batters before Casey Rogowski led off the fifth with a double.

Ryan Sweeney and Pascual Matos had RBI singles for the Knights (68-46).

Charlie Haeger (11-5) took the loss after yielding five runs on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings. He fanned five and walked four. --Max Lance/MLB.com
