Staten Island Yankees announce 2015 promotional schedule

Highlights include Game of Thrones Night and #beatBKLYN Night

The Staten Island Yankees are excited to announce the 2015 promotional schedule, the best one in franchise history! From bobblehead giveaways to pop culture-inspired nights, this summer will have a little something for everyone.

Individual game tickets will go on sale Saturday, April 18, at noon. We will be hosting a kick off event at Richmond County Bank Ballpark from 2-4 p.m. featuring former New York Yankees Cecil Fielder and Mickey Rivers signing autographs, as well as the chance to win Derek Jeter collectables.

Giveaway Nights

Gate giveaways are always a hit at Richmond County Bank Ballpark. Whether it's special hats, bobbleheads or baseball cards, Baby Bomber fans will have several opportunities to collect mementos to remember their experience at the ballpark by.

Bobbleheads make a triumphant return to the ballpark as fans will have the chance to collect two figurines celebrating two former Baby Bomber pitchers this summer. First will be 2008 Staten Island Yankee and 2014 MLB All-Star Dellin Betances on Saturday, July 18. On Saturday, Aug. 1, we commemorate the only no-hitter in franchise history with Jason Arnold "No-No" Night, highlighted by an appearance from Jason Arnold himself.


Theme Nights

Special theme nights are a staple of Minor League Baseball, and we're excited to present some unique experiences for fans this summer, beginning with Opening Day: Field of Dreams, sponored by Richmond University Medical Center. On Friday, June 19, Dwier Brown (Kevin Costner's father from Field of Dreams) will be on hand to toss out the ceremonial first pitch and sign autographs. RUMC will host a blood drive and will have staff on hand to provide more information about men's health and awareness. Fans who donate blood will receive one (1) free ticket voucher to a future Staten Island Yankees game. In honor of Father's Day weekend, fans are encouraged to bring their gloves for a post-game catch on the field led by Dwier Brown.

On Sunday, June 28, the Staten Island Yankees will recognize the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Staten Island Stapletons, the island's very own NFL franchise from 1929-1932, with Staten Island Sports Hall of Fame Night. The S.I. Sports Hall of Fame will be on hand with special pieces from their historical collection. Celebrate our country's birthday at Richmond County Bank Ballpark for our Fourth of July Celebration on Saturday, July 4. There's no better way to wrap up your Fourth of July than watching America's Pastime with waterfront fireworks, the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan skyline as your backdrop, as well as a spectacular view of other fireworks shows in the New York Harbor.


The Battle of the Boroughs between the Staten Island Yankees and Brooklyn Cyclones is highly regarded as one of the fiercest rivalries in the minors. We're turning up the heat on the rivalry with #beatBKLYN Night on Friday, July 17. The first 2,500 fans in the park will receive special #beatBKLYN hats, and we'll be showcasing some of the things that make Staten Island > Brooklyn. Staten Island Borough President James Oddo and Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams will be on hand for an on-field contest for charity as well.


Game of Thrones Night is sure to reign supreme over all theme nights in the land on Saturday, Aug. 8. Author of the famed book series that brought the HBO hit to fans everywhere, George R.R. Martin will be in attendance to sign autographs. For the night's game, the Baby Bombers will be known as the Staten Island Direwolves, wearing unique jerseys on the field and will have a live wolf mascot on hand to bring the night to life. Game-worn jerseys will be auctioned to fans with proceeds going to benefit the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary. If you don't get a jersey in the auction, fear not. The first 2,500 fans in the park will receive a Staten Island Direwolves hat.


After having more than 100 dogs join us at the ballpark for our first ever Dog Days of Summer in 2014, we're excited to welcome man's best friend back to the ballpark on Wednesday, Aug. 12. David Frei of the Westminster Kennel Club and his agility dogs will be on hand for a pre-game demonstration. To purchase tickets for you furry, four-legged friend, give us a call at 718-313-1335.


All season long, we'll be showcasing the best Staten Island has to offer, and Saturday, Aug. 15, is no different as we host Staten Island Star Search: Looking for the Borough's Diamond in the Rough. Baseball prospects won't be the only ones performing to impress during the night. We'll have some of the island's finest talent battling to be named the borough's best in front of fans of Richmond County Bank Ballpark. For our season finale, we have Fan Appreciation Night on Friday, Sept. 4. The Baby Bombers will wear special Staten Island flag-themed jerseys on the field as a tribute to our sixteenth season on the island. Every fan in attendance will have a chance to win one of the game-worn jerseys throughout the duration of the game. We will also have an end-of-the-year coupon and gift card giveaway from local restaurants and businesses during the game.


Appreciation Nights

Appreciation nights are another staple of our promotional schedule each year. We strive to honor the men and women in our community who sacrifice and go above and beyond to serve others. As an addition to our usual nights, we welcome Blue Lives Matter, a nonprofit organization created to help the families of law enforcement during their time of need, to the ballpark on Sunday, Aug. 9. Wife of slain NYPD officer Rafael Ramos, Maritza Ramos, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Heritage Nights

Being surrounded by one of the most diverse populations in the world, celebrating some of the city's most notable heritages is another tradition at Richmond County Bank Ballpark. This year's lineup is highlighted by the 2000 Championship Team Card Set Giveaway, on Jewish Heritage Night, presented by Gold's, and the S.I. Yankees Shamrock Hat Giveaway, sponsored by Richmond County Savings Bank, on Irish Heritage Night.

Weekly Promos

Every Monday during the season we will give fans the chance to win prizes and money for "Big Money Mondays". Through a series of games like Nine Innings of Winning to win door prizes, High Roller Dice for $25,000 or a baseball-themed Monty Hall problem game, fans will get the chance to kick the week off with a win.
Another fan-favorite tradition at Richmond County Bank Ballpark, after every Friday and Saturday night game, fans will be treated to a spectacular post-game fireworks show set against the Manhattan skyline. And we didn't forget about the kids! Following the conclusion of every game, all kids are invited to take a trip around the bases like their favorite Yankees for Kids Run the Bases.


Scooter's Kids Club

Brand new to the ballpark for 2015 is Scooter's Kids Club. For only $15, kids ages 12 and under get tickets to three special games paired with three exclusive experiences
