SAN ANTONIO - In front of the largest crowd of the season, Randy Neuenfeldt finally beat Henry The Puffy Taco in the race around the bases to avenge his loss from 18 years ago.
Neuenfeldt, better known as the only kid that has ever lost to Henry in the race, sprinted around the bases and triumphantly defeated his puffy foe to erase years of scarred memories.
The taco rematch wasn't the only highlight of the night, as the Missions beat the Hooks, 5-0 to win the four-game series.
Missions starting pitcher Jeremy Hefner (6-4, 2.60) threw seven shutout innings and allowed just five hits while striking out three to earn the win.
Bryan Oland and Evan Scribner combined to seal the win for San Antonio (2-0) while a Cedric Hunter home run and a pair of hits from Logan Forsythe paced the Missions offense.
Hooks left-hander Tyler Lumsden (4-5, 3.53) was charged with the loss, allowing four runs (one earned) on four hits over seven innings of work.
The Missions' 12-game homestand rolls on as the Midland RockHounds (0-2) return to The Wolff for a four-game set. Right-hander Simon Castro (4-2, 2.87) will get the start for San Antonio against Midland Righty Justin Murray (0-0, 11.25) with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
Don't forget, Friday is a Lottery Ticket Giveaway and Armed Services Night presented by USO Banking - only at Bank of America. Come out to the ballpark and have a chance to win some cash from the Texas Lottery and support our troops while the Missions take on the RockHounds.
