Chipper rehabs in Mississippi

The Mississippi Braves announced that Atlanta Braves third baseman Chipper Jones is scheduled to make rehab appearances with the Mississippi Braves on Friday, Aug. 11 and Saturday, Aug. 12.

Jones was placed on the 15-day disabled list by Atlanta on July 30 with a strained left oblique. Before his injury, Jones was the hottest man in the Braves' lineup in July. He had a batting average of .500 with seven doubles, one triple, seven homers, 20 RBIs and 19 runs scored through only 16 games in July.

Jones is scheduled to play for the Mississippi Braves on Friday and Saturday. Jones' status is subject to change.
