Astros announce JetHawks 2015 roster
LANCASTER, Calif. - Fifteen players who played with the JetHawks in 2014 are included on Lancaster's 2015 preliminary roster announced Wednesday by Houston Astros Director of Player Development Quinton McCracken. California League Championship Series MVP Tyler Brunnemann and 2014 Astros Minor League Player of the Year Brett Phillips are among the returners who will be led by first-year manager Omar Lopez.
Last season, Phillips hit .339 with four home runs and posted a .421 OBP in 27 games with the JetHawks after an early-August promotion. Brunnemann allowed just seven hits over 13.1 innings of relief in eight late-season games with Lancaster. He struck out six over three perfect innings in Game 5 of the Championship Series to earn the win.
Fourteen of the club's returning players appeared in at least one game during the California League Championship Series and six were in the starting lineup for Game 5.
Notable returnees include outfielder Danry Vasquez (.291, 5HR, 47RBI, 114G), shortstop Chan Moon (.286, 4HR, 36 RBI, 59G), infielder Jack Mayfield (.293, 7HR, 39RBI, 66G) and left-hander Brian Holmes (5-2, 4.53ERA, 20G).

In total, six of MLB.com's top-30 Astros prospects are scheduled to begin the season with the JetHawks. Feliz enters the season with an 18-13 career minor league record and a 3.40 ERA. He was named to the World Team in the 2014 Sirius XM All-Star Futures Game.
First baseman A.J. Reed and third baseman J.D. Davis, the 12th and 13th ranked prospects respectively, are primed to take advantage of The Hangar's friendly hitting conditions. Reed, the Astros second round pick in the 2014 draft, won college baseball's Golden Spikes Award last season after leading the nation in home runs with the University of Kentucky. Davis hit a total of 13 home runs in the minors last season after being drafted in the third round out of Cal State Fullerton.
