RIVER CATS ANNOUNCE ESPN 1320 PARTNERSHIP
The Sacramento River Cats are excited to announce a new partnership with Entercom's ESPN Radio 1320AM (KCTC) for the 2015 season. All 144 River Cats games will be broadcast on the locally-based station, reaching listeners across the greater Sacramento area.
The change is one of many taking place prior to and during the 2015 season and one that both the River Cats and Entercom are eager to share. "The River Cats organization is emblematic of everything that makes Sacramento such a great place to live," Entercom Vice President and Market Manager Sean Shannon said. "We are excited to partner with them in delivering America's Pastime both on the air and on the field."
In addition to ESPN Radio 1320AM, Entercom manages a number of Northern California stations, including five others based in Sacramento: Star 106.5 (KUDL), 107.9 The End (KDND), Radio 94.7 (KKDO), 98 Rock (KRXQ) and 96.9 The Eagle (KSEG). The partnership will expand the reach of River Cats baseball to a larger audience during the 2015 season and beyond.
"It just makes sense," said River Cats General Manager Chip Maxson, "for the River Cats to be broadcast on a great sports station like ESPN 1320. We are very excited as the partnership includes all of the Entercom stations which will be incorporated into promotions at Raley Field throughout the season. It is going to be a big win for our fans at Raley Field as well as those who tune in to the broadcasts."
While all games will now be broadcast on Sacramento's ESPN 1320, long-time River Cats announcer and Sacramento mainstay Johnny Doskow will remain the team's play-by-play announcer. Doskow is returning for his 15th season on air for the River Cats.
Entercom also recently added radio veterans The Rise Guys to ESPN 1320. Comprised of of Whitey Gleason and Mark Kreidler, The Rise Guys joined an on-air lineup that includes ESPN Radio's Mike & Mike, Colin Cowherd, and Scott Van Pelt, in July of last year. Based in Sacramento, the show discusses all things relevant to Northern California Sports fans from the River Cats, Giants and A's, to the 49ers, Raiders, Kings, Warriors and more. The Rise Guys air weekday afternoons, 2-6pm.
