4th of July at City Stadium
After a short road trip, the Cats are back to celebrate Independence Day. Lynchburg opens up a six-game homestand against Winston-Salem and Wilmington. July 3 will feature pre-Independence Day Fireworks after the game at City Stadium. The game is at 6:05, gates open at 5, and fireworks will follow. The fireworks spectacular is presented by VC Design & Build in honor of the Lynchburg Humane Society.
Fans are encouraged to bring in canned dog or cat food to donate to the society. There will be bins outside the gates before the game.
The Hillcats will also wear commemorative 4th of July Caps that feature the Hillcats logo filled in with patriotic stars and stripes. Sunday's game also starts at 6:05 p.m., and the gates open at 5. Fans will have the chance to buy the limited edition caps at the Catty Shack for $30 starting July 4 until they sell out. There will only be approximately 60 caps available, so get them while you can!
Part of the proceeds from the sale of the caps will go to "Welcome Back Veterans," a fund to help veterans in need when they return home from overseas duty.
Sunday's 4th of July Spectacular also features fireworks presented by Westover Dairy and Kroger. Fans can also purchase the Hillcats 4th of July tee-shirts for a limited time at the Catty Shack or the online team store.
But the fireworks aren't done there! Lynchburg closes out that homestand against Wilmington July 9 at 6:05. That'll be another fireworks show evening at City Stadium. That Friday is also the next FRITOS Family Friday at the ballpark.
Select families in attendance during the first Friday home game in July (July 9) will be chosen for ballpark experiences. Plus, bring an empty FRITOS bag to the Catty Shack to get 10% off Hillcats merchandise.
