Hernandez Snaps 'Hounds Losing Streak

Carlos Hernandez went a 7.0 solid innings, at one point retiring 14 consecutive batters, to win his seventh game of the season. The 'Hounds backed the all-star lefty with a 14-hit attack, led by Adrian Cardenas and Archie Gilbert.

Both "AC" and Archie reached base four times, with Gilbert ripping a home run in the first inning, later adding a double and scoring two runs. The solo shot was his eighth of the season, tying Alex Valdez for the team lead. Cardenas had four hits, including a double, scoring a run and adding a stolen base.

Alex Valdez, Josh Horton and Corey Brown each had two hits for the RockHouhnds, who also had a combined five stolen bases (in seven attempts) on the night.

Hernandez allowed a two-run double by James Darnell in the first, then settled in, retiring the side in order in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings. For the game, he allowed two runs on four hits, walking two and whiffing six.

San Antonio rallied for two in the ninth before Jared Lansford got Logan Forsythe to fly out to right, ending the game. "Lanny" earned his 10th save in as many chances.
