Now in its seventh year, the Reckless Kelly Celebrity Softball Jam was created as a way for the band to bring together their friends from the worlds of music and sports to benefit Austin's youth. Since it began, the event has raised over $300,000 for youth sports programs, including $175,000 towards the renovation of Mabson Field in East Austin.

Proceeds from the event will go towards Reckless Kelly's ongoing efforts to support youth sports programs in Central Texas, including field renovations and other partnerships with MLB's Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities program (RBI), The Miracle League and several other baseball and softball leagues around Austin.

Reckless Kelly will also be collecting both gently used baseball and softball equipment and musical instruments through The Reckless Recycling Program. Donations will be accepted at event entrances on May 31, and those who donate will receive two free tickets to a future Round Rock Express game. Athletic gear donations will be distributed to several local youth leagues, and musical instruments will be donated to the Austin-based non-profit organization KING (Kids in a New Groove), who provide mentoring and musical instruction to Texas youth in foster care.

The Reckless Kelly Celebrity Softball Jam, created and produced by Reckless Kelly in conjunction with Ryan Sanders Entertainment, is a registered 501C-3 through the Reckless Kelly Charitable Youth Foundation. Ryan Sanders Entertainment is a division of Ryan Sanders Baseball, owner/operator of the Round Rock Express (Texas Rangers Triple-A affiliate) and Ryan Sanders Sports Services. They also operate Dell Diamond.
