EL PASO, TX - April 9, 2015 - Opening Week is here! The El Paso Chihuahuas kick-off their 2015 campaign tonight at 7:05 p.m. when they take on the Tacoma Rainiers (Seattle Mariners) in a four-game series. Fans are encouraged to arrive early as pregame festivities will begin at 6:30 p.m.
The Chihuahuas have plenty in store for fans with a pregame band, the cover band FM Junkies, performing on the new Santa Fe Plaza! The festivities continue with special and surprise pregame presentations and pageantry!
Opening week continues with a Fireworks Spectacular presented by KVIA and KSII FM. GECU Bark at the Park is on Sunday, April 12th and includes a birthday celebration for Chico! Fans and their canine friends are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance as seating is limited. Guests are also encouraged to bring Chico birthday presents that will be donated to the Humane Society of El Paso. A list of requested donations follows.
Opening week continues with the Reno Aces (Arizona Diamondbacks) from April 13-16. Military Mondays are back with special savings to our military past and present! Seniors eat free (60 and over) on Tuesdays and kids (ages 12 and under) are eligible to receive an Eat Well El Paso meal on Wednesdays. Visit our website for more information!
The series ends on Thursday, April 16 with a Salute to Grammy award winner Selena Quintanilla-Perez. Come to the ballpark dressed up like the Queen of Tejano music and get ready to dance!
