J.J. Hardy Joins Snappers for Rehab Stint
The Minnesota Twins announced today that shortstop J.J. Hardy will be spending a few days in Beloit with the Snappers as he rehabs his injured left wrist. The Snappers take on the Cedar Rapids Kernels on Wednesday at 7:00pm and then host the Quad Cities River Bandits July 1-3 with all three games starting at 7:00pm. The Snappers hope to have Hardy through the 2nd as the Twins look to have him back with the big league squad as early as this weekend when they host the Tampa Bay Rays.
The former Brewers star is tentatively scheduled to appear in Beloit on June 30th and then again on July 1st and 2nd. A fan favorite in Milwaukee from 2005-2009, Hardy is playing his first season in the Twin Cities after a November trade from the Brewers. He has only appeared in 37 games for the Twins so far in 2010 after averaging 138 games each of the last 3 seasons for the Brewers.
"We are looking forward to having such a fine young player rehab with us here in Beloit" said General Manager Jeff Vohs. "It will be great to have a player that attracts Twins fans and Brewers fans alike to Pohlman Field" he continued. Great tickets are available for all four games remaining in the Snappers home stand and can be purchased through the Snappers Box Office at 608-362-2272 or on the web at www.snappersbaseball.com. You can also purchase tickets in person at Pohlman Field during our business hours (9:00am - 5:00pm Mon. - Fri. on non game days and 9:00am - until the end of the game on game days).
