Blomberg, Jewish Heritage Day on April 26th

LAKEWOOD, NJ - Ron Blomberg, who played seven years with the Yankees and was baseball's first-ever Designated Hitter, will be at FirstEnergy Park and sign autographs at the BlueClaws game on Sunday, April 26th at 1:05 pm. 

Blomberg will be at the game as part of Jewish Heritage Day festivities.

The autograph signing with Blomberg will begin when the game starts at 1:05 pm after he throws out a ceremonial first pitch. Fans can begin lining up when the gates open at 12 noon. 

Blomberg hit 6th for the Yankees on Opening Day 1973 and came to bat in the first inning, drawing a bases loaded walk from Luis Tiant in the first plate appearance by a designated hitter in baseball history. He was inducted into the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2004. In 2007, he managed the Bet Shemesh Blue Sox of the Israel Baseball League. His biography, Designated Hebrew: The Ron Blomberg Story, was released in 2006.

Because the game is on a Sunday, Kids Eat Free thanks to ShopRite. 

In addition, Yappy Hour, with J&K's Pet Depot, returns as fans can bring their dog to the game. There will also be $2 Corona's available for fans 21 & older.
