Missions Fall in Final 4-2
TULSA--The Drillers captured the rubber game of the series Saturday night in front 5,961 at Oneok Field.
The Missions were held to two hits after managing only three in Friday's win. They were held to 12 hits for the three game series and had only 10 at-bats with runners in scoring position while striking out 29 times.
Diego Goris hit a first inning solo homerun and Trea Turner scored the club's only other run in the ninth inning.
The Missions loaded the bases with one out in the eighth but Travis Jankowski grounded into an inning-ending double play.
Yeison Asencio grounded into a double play with two on in the ninth to end the game.
San Antonio starter Bryan Rodriguez (0-1) was tagged with the loss in his Double-A debut. He was charged with three runs in five innings but was often hit hard throughout his outing.
NOTES: Pitchers Jerry Sullivan, Bryce Morrow, and Adam Cimber were promoted to Triple-A El Paso. Joining the Missions were pitchers Chris Nunn and Casey Kelly. Kelly will initially work out of the bullpen.
