Principal Family Fun Fest July 5
ROUND ROCK, Texas - Fans are invited to arrive at The Dell Diamond early Monday, July 5, as the Round Rock Express host the Memphis Redbirds at 7:05 p.m. CDT. The Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest will take place prior to the game. The event, which is created and produced by Entertainment Sports International (ESI), features a 4,000-square-foot fun zone.
Now in its seventh year, the Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest visits Minor League parks throughout the nation. The Dell Diamond event begins at 4:05 p.m. and is open to the public with free admission.
Express owner and Baseball Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan is the national spokesperson for the event.
"The minor leagues offer fans a great baseball experience," Ryan said. "From exceptional value to a safe, family environment, fans get to see competitive professional baseball with non-stop entertainment. The Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest extends that excitement before the game with an event truly unique to Minor League ballparks."
Started in 2004, the tour highlights The Principal's national educational program - America Rebuilds with The Principal. The program is aimed at providing Americans with the inspiration, advice and tools they need to get their financial futures back on track.
The tour has been visited by nearly 2 million fans over the course of 300 stops. The event features more than 20 baseball-themed attractions, including a Minor League Baseball museum, a state-of-the-art home run derby video game arcade games (sponsored by Great Clips), free souvenir personalized baseball cards (sponsored by Travelodge), free Sports Illustrated for Kids personalized magazine covers and new attractions from Topps Trading Cards, Random House Children's Books and Louisville Slugger. There also will be batting cages, pitching cages and other attractions specifically designed for younger fans.
Fans will have a chance to win $5,000 or free nights at Travelodge and a personalized Louisville Slugger bat by entering The Principal 401-K Challenge, a sweepstakes recognizing the first participating team on the tour to register 401 home strikeouts. Last year's winning team was the Fort Wayne TinCaps. The online entry form and complete rules are available online.
