July 2, 2010
NORWICH-The Connecticut Tigers, Norwich Arts Council and Rose City Renaissance will be holding the Independence Day Family Celebration this Saturday at Dodd Stadium beginning at 5:00 p.m. with live entertainment starting at 6:00 p.m. and the fireworks show commencing at 9:15 p.m.

"We are so proud to be hosting this event," said Tigers Vice President of Operations C.J. Knudsen. "We're encouraging people to arrive early and enjoy the festivities. We are also asking people to carpool to help alleviate traffic."

Parking is available at Dodd Stadium for $5.00 a car. The Tigers want to let fans know that they have added shuttle busses at additional locations: the City of Norwich Public Works Lot located at 50 Clinton Avenue next to Hart's Greenhouse and Lightolier/DDL Omni Parking Lot located in the Norwich Business Park on Wisconsin Avenue. This is in addition to the CSC lot on New Park Avenue in the Norwich Industrial Park. Fans are encouraged to carpool and to arrive to all shuttle locations early.

The Tigers have also added an additional event in conjunction with the July 3rd fireworks. Fans should bring their gloves to have a catch on the Dodd Stadium outfield from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The Tigers next home stand begins July 4 against the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, the short-season "A" affiliate of the Cleveland Indians at 4:04 p.m. To purchase tickets, call the Tigers at 860-887-7962, go online to www.cttigers.com, or stop by the Box Office at Dodd Stadium during normal business hours. ###
