Bees Pitcher Adam Wilk Selected to Angels Roster

Wilk is the First Angels Call Up of 2015

SALT LAKE CITY (April 15, 2015) - The Los Angeles Angels announced today that the club has selected the contract of Salt Lake Bees pitcher Adam Wilk and placed him on the Angels active roster. Wilk is the first player called up by Los Angeles this season and will be in uniform for the Angels game against Texas Rangers today. In a corresponding move the Angels optioned pitcher Drew Rucinski to Salt Lake.

An Anaheim, Calif., native, Wilk threw five scoreless innings with four strikeouts against Sacramento in his Bees debut on Opening Day. An 11th round draft pick of the Detroit Tigers in 2009, Wilk has made eight Major League appearances in his career, the last coming on April 25, 2012 with the Tigers. Prior to joining the Angels organization Wilk spent 2014 with the Indianapolis Indians, the Triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates and 2013 with the NC Dinos of the Korean Professional Baseball League.

The Bees return home to Smith's Ballpark for Opening Night on Friday, April 17 at 6:35 p.m. The homestand features games against Sacramento on April 17-20 and Fresno on April 21-24. First pitch is at 6:35 p.m. for all games with the exception of the Sunday matinee at 1:05 p.m. All games home and away can be heard on The Zone Sports Network (1280 AM) with Steve Klauke on the call.
