JetHawks, Ports split doubleheader
LANCASTER, Calif. - J.D. Davis led the way in a 5-1 victory in Game 1 and added an RBI in a 7-3 loss in Game 2 as the JetHawks split a doubleheader with the Stockton Ports on Wednesday night at The Hangar.

Davis put the JetHawks on the board in the first inning of Game 1 when he brought home Brett Phillips with a bloop single to centerfield. Danry Vasquez scored later in the inning on a double play groundball to give Lancaster a 2-0 advantage.
The lead was plenty for starter Edison Frias (2-0) who allowed one hit over five scoreless innings. The right-hander struck out five and walked two.
Davis started the fourth inning with a double and later scored on a Chase McDonald double. Davis added an RBI-single in the fifth inning to put the JetHawks up 5-0.

Stockton starter Dylan Covey (1-1) suffered his first loss of the season in the first game.
Davis added a hit and an RBI in the second game but Stockton broke it open late. Franklin Barreto broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth inning with a two-run triple against starter Brian Holmes (0-1). Holmes allowed three runs on five hits with six strikeouts over five innings in the loss.
