July 4, 2010
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The San Diego Padres will host their annual tryout camp at Parkview Field on Wednesday, July 14.

High school and college players between the ages of 16 and 22 who are currently not drafted or under an affiliated Major League Baseball team contract are invited to showcase their baseball skills at the tryout camp conducted by area scouts of the Padres' organization.

Position players should report to Parkview Field at 8:30 a.m., with the tryout portion officially starting at 9:00 a.m. Pitchers should arrive at 11:30 a.m. Scouting officials and personnel directors of the Padres system will handle the entire camp and will make any decisions on players. Fort Wayne TinCaps personnel will not make any decisions on player signings.

Players are not required to pre-register for the tryout camp. All players under the age of 18 will need to have their approved registration waivers signed by a parent or legal guardian before the tryout camp or on the day of the event.

All players trying out will need to bring the following items - uniforms, gloves, shoes and/or cleats, and catching equipment if needed. All baseballs, wood bats and batting helmets will be supplied by the Padres' and TinCaps' organization.
