Severino homers twice in loss
April 27, 2015

Harrisburg, PA - A pair of five-run innings by New Britain was too much to overcome as the Harrisburg Senators lost to the Rock Cats, 13-6, Monday at Metro Bank Park.

In the loss, Pedro Severino continued his hot hitting with two home runs and three RBI. Severino also singled and is now 12-for-21 with 12 RBI in his last seven games played. His first homer, a two-run shot, pushed Harrisburg in front 2-1 in the second inning. His second long ball came in the fifth inning, and cut Harrisburg's deficit to 8-3. Kevin Keyes launched his second home run of the season as a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning. Keyes' two-run shot pushed his season RBI total to 10. Severino scored Harrisburg's final run on a Ricky Hague sacrifice fly in the ninth inning. Senators' leadoff man Derrick Robinson had a fine game, reaching five times on two singles, two walks and an error. Brian Goodwin also had two hits and scored a run.

Brian Rauh's 2015 Senators debut did not go as planned as the right-hander allowed eight runs on 10 hits in 3.1 innings. Reliever Colin Bates followed by allowing five runs, although only three were earned, in 1.2 innings. Bryan Harper lowered his season ERA to 1.29 with two scoreless frames. James Simmons pitched a scoreless inning as well for Harrisburg. Overall, there were seven home runs hit in the ball game - four by New Britain, and three by Harrisburg.
