Cougars Introduce "The Patio" Lawn Seating Area

New additions to popular ballpark seating option will open to fans on May 1
April 28, 2015

GENEVA, Ill. - Fans will be treated to a fresh look with one of the most popular seating areas at a Kane County Cougars game. A portion of the first base lawn area, now officially known as "The Patio", will continue to offer a picturesque view of the field with a newly enhanced in-game experience. Both "The Patio", as well as the entire first and third base lawn seating areas, will officially open for the 2015 season beginning with Friday's 6:30 p.m. game against Beloit. Friday's game marks the first of two consecutive "Halfway to Halloween" theme nights and is the first post-game fireworks show of the season. Tickets for the upcoming homestand, which include fireworks shows, the Jesse White Tumblers, Nancy Faust and much more, are available by calling (630) 232-8811 or by clicking HERE.

For years, the Cougars' general admission lawn seating area has been one of the most desirable tickets for thousands of fans who descend upon Fifth Third Bank Ballpark. Fans, particularly families with young children, can bring their lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a leisurely day at the ballpark with a tremendous view of the on-field action and promotions. Lawn tickets start at $9 for most games this season.

New for the first base lawn area, "The Patio" features modernized landscaping work, a circular pit area and a total of 16 multi-colored Adirondack chairs and tables facing the field. The chairs, along with the entire lawn area, is a general admission seating area.

The chairs and tables have been provided by Wannemaker's Home and Garden. Located in Downers Grove, Wannemaker's offers a wide variety of outdoor items such as flowers, shrubs, trees, patio furniture, pond supplies, grills and more. Wannemaker's is title sponsor of the Cougars Outside Grill for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. The grill, located just behind "The Patio", offers some of the Cougars' most popular grilled items including their signature barbeque pork chop sandwich.

"Our partnership with Wannemaker's Home and Garden has really taken our first base lawn seating area to a new level with today's announcement," Cougars Owner Cheryl Froehlich said. "The multi-colored chairs and landscaping add a nice touch to the look of the ballpark. Fans will continue to enjoy one of the most popular seating areas at a Cougars game and have convenient access to some of our most popular grilled items at the Wannemaker's Outside Grill."

"Friday's game is sure to be an exciting evening as we debut the patio lawn area and celebrate our first theme night and fireworks show of the season," Cougars Vice President/General Manager Curtis Haug said. "We encourage fans to join us at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark beginning on Friday for the start of a great six-game homestand."

"Wannemaker's is thrilled to be a part of the new exciting changes at the Cougars' Fifth Third Bank Ballpark this season," Wannemaker's owner Kristen Wannemaker said. "The fun enhancements that the Cougars have added are sure to make an outing to a game even more enjoyable. I'm confident once fans enjoy a game with the great views from the chairs, they will have a difficult time finding a better seat in the park."
