Todd Redmond to start for Bisons Thursday
The Buffalo Bisons today announced that they have activated RHP TODD REDMOND and INF KEVIN NOLAN to the team's roster. Redmond is scheduled to start for the Herd on Thursday, April 30 against the Norfolk Tides (1:05 p.m.).
Nolan has been promoted from Double-A New Hampshire while Redmond was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on April 16. To make roster room, RHP BOBBY KORECKY (retroactive to April 28) and OF CHRIS DICKERSON were both placed on the team's disabled list.
REDMOND, 29, appeared in two games for the Blue Jays this season, allowing eight runs on five hits in 5.1 innings of work. The righty spent all of last season in Toronto and was 1-4 with a 3.24 ERA in 42 relief appearances (75.0 IP, 73 H, 27 BB, 60 SO). Redmond last pitched for the Bisons in 2013 when he was 3-1 with a 5.06 ERA in five starts and one relief outing.
NOLAN, 27, played 15 games with New Hampshire this season and hit .304 (17-56) with three doubles, a triple and six RBI He's played both third base and shortstop for the Fisher Cats with just one error in 127.0 innings in the field this season. Nolan made his Triple-A debut with the Bisons last season, hitting .239 with three RBI in 21 games.
