Spikes unveil FIREWORKS, Daily Value dates

13 FIREWORKS shows, Athletic Cup Giveaway on 2015 slate

The State College Spikes today announced their slate of 13 FIREWORKS Nights plus an array of fun, inventive promotions to round out the 2015 promotional schedule. The 38-game home schedule for the Spikes' 10th Season runs from June 19 to September 6 at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

The Spikes' 2015 FIREWORKS schedule includes three extended shows, beginning with an Opening Night Spectacular, presented by PSECU, on Friday, June 19 after the 7:05 p.m. game against the Williamsport Crosscutters (Philadelphia Phillies). The FIREWORKS schedule also concludes with the Regular Season Grand Finale show, presented by Aaron's, on Sunday, September 6 after a 6:05 p.m. game against Williamsport.

Plus, the special "Pyro Musical" FIREWORKS show returns on Sunday, August 16. The expanded show, presented by First National Bank, will thrill fans with specially choreographed effects timed to music after the 6:05 p.m. game against the West Virginia Black Bears (Pittsburgh Pirates).

The tradition of FIREWORKS nights at each Sunday Spikes home game also continues with dazzling shows after each of the four 6:05 p.m. games on June 21, July 12, July 19, August 2, and August 9. Additional FIREWORKS shows will light up the skies over Central PA following 7:05 p.m. games on July 3, July 10, July 31, August 15 and September 3.

The Spikes will also present even more innovative promotions for fans to enjoy throughout the 2015 season. The slate includes a Spikes Athletic Cup Giveaway for the first 1,000 supporters, presented by Boyles Insurance, on Thursday, July 30 when the Spikes host the Vermont Lake Monsters (Oakland Athletics) at 7:05 p.m. The evening will also feature Guys Night Out and Ed Randall's Fans for the Cure Prostate Cancer Awareness Night.

Other highlights of the 2015 promotional schedule include:

  • Two of the Spikes' signature Bark in the Park Nights, presented by Metzger Animal Hospital. Fans are invited to bring their dogs out to the 7:05 p.m. games on Thursday, July 2 and Saturday, August 1.
  • HD Weekend, presented by Aaron's, to conclude the 2015 regular season. Each night from September 4-6, one lucky fan will walk away with a brand-new upgrade for their home entertainment system.
  • The Back to School Bash on Saturday, August 29, with a Spikes School Kit Giveaway to the first 1,000 fans at the 7:05 p.m. game, presented by Huntington Learning Center.
  • A Spikes Team Poster Giveaway for the first 1,000 fans, presented by Fullington Bus Company, and a Pre-Game Team Autograph Session from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 12.

The Spikes popular Daily Value Promotional Schedule returns for 2015 as well, offering fans a different money-saving promotion, giveaway or fun experience every day of the week during the 2015 season.

Back for a second season on the slate are "Dollar Beer Thursdays," offering fans 21 and older the opportunity to enjoy 12 ounce domestic draft beer for just one dollar between 6 and 8 p.m. 93.7 THE BUS will present every Dollar Beer Thursday during the season.

Fans will also receive even more value at every Friday home game with the 4 for $44 Friday Northwest Family Value Ticket Package. The package includes four Diamond Club or Field Box tickets, four hot dogs and four small sodas for only $44 (an $85 value), and is presented by Northwest Savings Bank and MAJIC 99.

Returning daily promotions include Buck Night on Mondays presented by 95.3 FM 3WZ, the T-Shirt Tuesday series presented by B94.5 FM, Half-Price Wednesday presented by BIG Froggy 101, and Scratch 'n Win Saturday presented by P.J. Harrigan's.

Each Sunday home game is also "Kids Day," presented by First National Bank, with a pre-game catch on the field and post-game Kids Run the Bases, presented by Clinical Outcomes Group, Inc. All kids will also receive a voucher for a free hot dog, bag of chips, soda and one-time play pass in Ike's Kids Zone thanks to Dairy Queen Grill and Chill.

The Spikes' 38-game home schedule at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park runs from June 19 through September 6. Fans will get their first chance to purchase single-game tickets for every game on the 2015 schedule this Saturday, May 2 during TicketFest at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Tickets can be purchased starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday in person at TicketFest, by phone at (814) 272-1711, or online at StateCollegeSpikes.com.
