May 1, 2015

The International League announced today that Buffalo Bisons INF CHRIS COLABELLO has been named the League's Player of the Month for April. Along with winners from other leagues, Colabello will receive an award from Minor League Baseball in recognition of his performance last month.

Colabello hit .338 over the first month of the 2015 season and led the International League with five home runs and 16 RBI. The Bisons are out in front of the IL North Division with a League‐best record of 14‐7, with Colabello having appeared in all but one game so far. In addition to being among the Leagueʹs Top 10 in batting average, Colabello is also near the top of the circuit with 42 total bases (T‐2nd), a .592 slugging percentage (5th), 12 runs scored (T‐8th), and a .427 on‐base percentage (9th).

Colabello picked up his third career IL Batter of the Week award this past Monday after hitting .467 with 14 hits and 10 RBI during Buffaloʹs seven‐game road trip through Pawtucket and Lehigh Valley. This marks the second career IL Player of the Month award for Colabello, who was so honored in June 2013 as a member of the Rochester Red Wings.

The most recent member of the Bisons to be named IL Player of the Month was third baseman Andy Marte in June 2006.
