Suns renew annual Golden Skillet Battle May 11

Suns host in-state rival Pensacola for series at Bragan Field

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Suns will kick off the annual battle for the Golden Skillet against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos in a five-game series starting May 11 at Bragan Field.

The Suns, who has won every battle since the inception in 2012, hosts their in-state rival for two 11:05 a.m. games this home stand. Both contests are the annual Celebration of Reading Days for schools in the Northeast Florida area.

On Friday, the Suns will have their annual Cancer Awareness Night. The team will wear 1990's red retro jerseys that will be auctioned after the game with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the Patient Assistance Foundation. All ladies will also receive a pink Suns cap when entering the gates.

Other promotions this week include Fifty-Cent Family Fest Night, Thursday Night Throwdown and NAPA Family Friday Fireworks. A full list of the promotions can be seen below.

Tickets for all Suns home games are currently on sale through the Suns Box Office at (904) 358-2846, or online at www.jaxsuns.com. Tickets are $7.50 for general admission, $10.50 for reserved seating and $13.50 for Homeplate Box seating.


Monday, May 11

Tuesday, May 12

vs. Pensacola Blue Wahoos at 7:05 p.m. - Gates open at 6 p.m.

FIFTY-CENT FAMILY FEAST: Enjoy $.50 hot dogs, peanuts and ice cream treats all night long. Also present a receipt from any local GATE Convenience Store at the Suns Box Office for Buy One-Get-One Tickets. SPONSORS: Oscar Mayer, Hampton Farms, Folio Weekly and 99.9 Gator Country.

PTA NIGHT: Special ticket discounts for PTA members.


Wednesday, May 13

COLLEGE NIGHT: All college students get in for $5 with an college ID.


Friday, May 15
