Nuts Rally to Win Series Against 66ers

May 10, 2015

San Bernardino, CA. - The Modesto Nuts outscored the Inland Empire 66ers 8-1 down the stretch to earn a 9-5, eleven-inning victory on Sunday afternoon at San Manuel Stadium.

The win gives the Nuts (16-15) their third straight series victory, and it comes in their longest game of the year.

Ryan McMahon tied the game with a bloop RBI single in the ninth. Correlle Prime won it for the Nuts with a two-run double in the eleventh against 66ers' (14-16) reliever Austin Adams (L 2-1).

The Nuts scored in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings to tie the game and send it to extras. Wilson Soriano recorded a RBI groundout in the seventh. Wilfredo Rodriguez whacked a RBI double before scoring on Dillon Thomas' RBI groundout. Thomas finished with two RBI and two hits.

Trent Daniel (W, 1-1) worked out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the tenth. The lefty induced a pop out and a groundout to dodge the jam and work two scoreless innings out of the Nuts' 'pen.

Grahamm Wiest tossed four innings in his start for the Nuts walking two, allowing nine hits and four runs.

After an off-day on Monday, the Nuts will open a three-game set against the San Jose Giants at John Thurman Field. Antonio Senzatela will toss in the opener against Chase Johnson.
