Patton, Blue Jays top Yankees

Cory Patton homered twice and drove in three runs to power Dunedin over visiting Tampa, 5-3, on Friday.

Patton went 2-for-4, blasting a solo shot in the second inning and a two-run jack in the third. Scott Dragicevich went 2-for-3 and scored a run for the Blue Jays (27-33).

Orlando Trias (12-8) allowed one run on five hits while striking out two and walking one in seven innings for the win. Connor Falkenbach notched his seventh save, despite allowing two inherited runners to score in the ninth.

Ben Himes went 3-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored and Jared Greenwood knocked a two-run double in the ninth for the Yankees (36-26).

Brett Smith (8-9) took the loss, allowing four runs on eight hits while striking out five and walking one in five frames.-- Josh Cooper/MLB.com
