Chicago Trib: Big Z To Pitch In Abq. Tues.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Major League pitcher Carlos Zambrano will pitch for the Iowa Cubs when they come to Albuquerque on Tuesday, July 27.

Zambrano, a mainstay in the rotation of the Chicago Cubs for the past seven seasons, winning a career-high 18 games for the North-Siders in 2007, has struggled this season while bouncing between being a starter and reliever, going 5-6 with a 5.66 ERA in 22 games (nine starts) with Chicago.

The big right-hander has already made one rehab appearance with the I-Cubs, pitching a scoreless inning on July 22 vs. Oklahoma City in Des Moines. He is slated to make one appearance in Round Rock this weekend before continuing on to Albquerque.
