Brewers Slam Raptors

Helena hits four homers

During the recent winning streak, the Ogden Raptors have used big innings to get to the top of the Northern Division of the Pioneer League. Friday, the tables were turned as the Helena Brewers scored seven runs in the fourth inning, winning 13-4 at Lindquist Field.

Trailing 1-0 in the fourth, Robbie Garvey led off the inning with a double to right-center. Franklin Romero Jr. then hit his second home run of the year out to left to give the Brewers the lead. Next, Cody Hawn walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Three batters later, Mike Walker singled him home to left and moved to second on the throw to the plate. After John Dishon was hit by a pitch, Tony Pechek walked to load the bases. Carlos George then hit a grand slam out to left to give the Brewers a 7-1 advantage.

The Brewers hit two more homers in the game. Greg Hopkins in the fifth, added a solo shot for the Brewers, his third of the season. In the sixth, Tony Pechek hit a two-run homer, his first of the season.

Eric Marzec got the win for Helena with 3 1/3 innings of scoreless innings out of the bullpen. He struck out four and didn't walk a batter.

The Raptors will host the Brewers for the final game of a four-game series Saturday. Garrett Gould will start for Ogden against Evan Fredrickson. Game starts at 7:00.
