Mount powers Owlz past Sox

Ryan Mount blasted a grand slam and drove in five runs to lead Orem over visiting Great Falls, 7-1, on Tuesday.

Mount went 3-for-5 with an RBI double in the fifth and connected for his slam in the seventh off reliever Ryan Rote. He fell a triple shy of the cycle.

Scott Knazek was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and P.J. Phillips went 3-for-3 with two runs scored for the Owlz (17-12), who stand in first place two games ahead of Ogden in the Pioneer League's South Division.

Orem starter Sean O'Sullivan (4-0) allowed a run on four hits while striking out six in six innings.

John Shelby went 2-for-4 and Chris Carter knocked an RBI single in the first for the White Sox (8-22).

Great Falls starter Logan Williamson (4-6) allowed two runs on six hits while striking out five in six innings. --Josh Cooper/MLB.com
