D'Marcus Ingram delivers a walk-off single to end Palm Beach's two-game skid

July 24, 2010

Jupiter, FL- The Palm Beach Cardinals (15-13, 54-44) beat the Tampa Yankees (18-9, 54-41) in walk-off fashion tonight at Roger Dean Stadium. D'Marcus Ingram's RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning off of Travis Lare (0-1) scored Domnit Bolivar to propel the Cardinals to a 6-5 victory.

The Cardinals overcame deficits twice in the contest to collect their first win against the Yankees this season. Alex Castellanos hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning to even things at 3-3. It was Castellanos' sixth blast of the year and his second in three games. Tampa tacked on a run in the seventh to take a 4-3 lead, but coughed it up in the bottom of the inning thanks to a wild pitch by Phil Bartlestki that scored Luis De La Cruz.

David Carpenter (4-3) surrendered a 5-4 lead in the top of the ninth, but Bolivar and Ingram picked him up to end the Cardinals two-game losing streak.

The Cardinals and Yankees will conclude their four-game series tomorrow. Brett Zawacki is the probable Palm Beach starter and will look to make it two in a row for the Cardinals. First pitch is scheduled for 5:05 PM.
