Nuts Snap Season-High Four-Game Slid

May 23, 2015

Modesto, CA. - Ramiel Tapia's three-RBI backed Antonio Senzatela to help the Modesto Nuts snap a four-game skid with a 6-3 win against the Visalia Rawhide on Friday night at John Thurman Field in front of 4,373 fans.

During a pitcher's duel between two of the top starters in the league, the Nuts (21-21) and Rawhide (30-12) were tied entering the bottom of the fifth until Tapia whacked a two-run triple before scoring on two-out RBI single by Ryan McMahon.

Senzatela (W, 3-2) had to work around a lot of trouble but avoided the big inning despite having runners in scoring position in four of his seven innings of work. Senzatela finished with a line of 6.2 innings pitched, five hits, two runs, three walks and six K's.

The Nuts handed Rawhide starter Zach Godley (L, 6-1) his first loss of the year by tagging him for 12 hits and four runs, both season-highs for Godley.

The second game of the four-game series begins at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday night. Coverage on ModestoNuts.com will start at 7:00 p.m. To listen on your iPhone or iPad click here. For PC and Flash enabled Android phones click here
