Cutler Shines in Bees Victory

May 24, 2015
SALT LAKE CITY (May 24) - The Salt Lake Bees won their ninth game in 12 chances with a 9-8 victory over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox Sunday afternoon at Smith's Ballpark. The Bees took three of four from the Sky Sox, marking their third consecutive series win and first three-series win streak since the beginning of the 2013 season. Salt Lake scored five runs in the first three innings and held a comfortable lead throughout the contest until the ninth inning. The Sky Sox mounted a rally in the final frame, scoring four runs to cut the deficit to just one before Jeremy McBryde was able to put the game in the books with his fifth save of the season.

Starter Zach Stewart held Colorado Springs to two runs over four and two-thirds innings, but did not factor into the decision. Scott Snodgress (1-1) snagged his first win of the season after tossing a scoreless relief inning. All nine Bees batters managed hits with the team combining for five extra-base hits. Charlie Cutler headlined the box score going three-for-four with two runs scored and one RBI. Ryan Jackson, Efren Navarro and Daniel Robertson each chipped in two hits.

"I had a couple of good swings and had some Baseball God help, so I'm grateful for that," said Culter. "I'm just happy we won. It got a little gnarly there at the end."

The Bees begin a four-game series with the Oklahoma City Dodgers tomorrow night. The series will feature ALS Awareness Night on Wednesday, May 27 and an early 12:05 p.m. Lunch at the Ballpark start time on Thursday, May 28. For more information and for tickets, visit www.slbees.com .
