Black Bears Release Promotional Schedule
The West Virginia Black Bears will kick off their inaugural season on Friday, June 19 at Monongalia County Ballpark. Throughout the season, fans can be a part of exciting promotions that will appeal to all ages.
Before each Friday home game, Schmitt's Saloon will host a pre-game party on the party deck in right field. Following the game each Friday night, a fireworks display will take place at the ballpark with an additional fireworks show on Saturday, June 20th and July 4th.
Each Thursday home game will have a themed food and drink, giving fans a chance to get a taste of different heritages present in the Morgantown area.
Tuesdays will be "Pirates Pride" themed as the team will celebrate its parent club, the Pittsburgh Pirates, with appearances by Pirates great, Steve Blass (June 30), the Pirate Parrot (July 21), and the Pittsburgh Pierogies (August 25).
Children will enjoy this season's Shoney's Sundays as they will be allowed to run the bases sponsored by Insurance Centers following the game. Mr. Twister will also be at each Sunday home game to make balloon creations and perform small magic tricks for children of all ages.

The Black Bears open the season at home on Friday, June 19 against the Mahoning Valley Scrappers at 7:05 p.m. In addition to the fireworks directly after the game, each fan will receive a special inaugural game ticket sponsored by Budweiser.
