Albertina-Kerr on Wine and Whine Night

July 28, 2010
EUGENE, Or. - Its Wine and Whine night at PK Park tonight. Come out and taste different kinds of wines as you watch your favorite Ems players and learn about what our featured nonprofit Albertina-Kerr represents.

Albertina-Kerr is a nonprofit organization that partners with families and the community to support people with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges to lead self-determined lives and realize their full potential.

Matt Baldwin, who works at Albertina-Kerr, said "It has been awesome to be given this opportunity. As a community inclusion program we are constantly looking for ways to get involved and educate the community; the Emeralds have allowed us to do both."

This is the first year the Emeralds have done a nonprofit program, where we feature a nonprofit at every game. Publicity for nonprofits during our game includes an honorary first pitch by a member of that organization, and a public address announcement as well as the organization's logo up on our video board.

"The Eugene Emeralds games are a great way for people to come to come together as a community, and the nonprofit nights are a great for the community to get involved in the good things that are going on around them. Albertina-Kerr feels lucky to be chosen as a part of this program and is very grateful for all of the many opportunities it has provided us!" Matt said.

This nonprofit has its own restaurant, catering business, thrift shop and special events run by their clients. To learn more about Albertina-Kerr, check out their website.
