'Topes Catcher Lucas May Traded To Royals

Albuquerque Isotopes catcher Lucas May, who was named to the Pacific Coast League All-Star Team in just his first season at the Triple-A level, has been traded by the Los Angeles Dodgers to the Kansas City Royals with pitcher Elisaul Pimentel for outfielder Scott Podsednik.

In 73 games with the 'Topes, May, a member of the Dodgers' 40-man roster, batted .296 with 13 doubles, three triples and 16 homers. May, who was named to the PCL All-Star team on July 2, served as the Albuquerque's primary catcher for the majority of the season until A.J. Ellis was optioned from the Dodgers on July 23. The trade marks a homecoming for the Missouri-native, who makes his permanent home near the Kansas City area.

Right-handed starter Pimental was 9-3 with a 3.49 ERA in 17 games (16 starts) for Single-A Great Lakes.

The 34-year old Podsednik batted .310 with Kansas City while stealing 30 bases in 94 games and his expected to join the Dodgers during their current series in San Diego.
