Senzatela Helps Pitch Nuts to Series Triumph

June 2, 2015

Visalia, CA. - Early offense stood up for the Modesto Nuts in their 3-2 win against the Visalia Rawhide to secure the four-game series victory on Tuesday night at Recreation Park.

Raimel Tapia started the game with a solo home run in the first, before adding a RBI single in the third against Rawhide (34-17) starter Zack Godley (L, 6-3). Ashley Graeter added a sac fly in the seventh that ended up being a big run.

In the eighth, the Rawhide scored a run on Kevin Cron's RBI double to bring them to within one. After he was sacrificed to third with one out, Trent Daniel was able to get the next two hitters to keep the lead intact.

Antonio Senzatela (W, 4-3) threw very well for the Nuts in his start. The righty struck out nine in 5.2 innings. He allowed only an unearned run in the sixth inning. He had to strand two baserunners in the fourth as a result of a walk and an error. In the first, he worked around a leadoff double. Overall, he allowed just two hits and walked only one.

Godley finished after 6.1 innings pitched. He struck out seven and walked just one as well. Two of the three runs he allowed were earned.

Matt Carasiti (S, 2/2) earned his second save in at many nights. The righty tossed a perfect ninth frame to secure the Nuts victory.
