The Thunder are proud to announce that former Manager Tony Franklin will be inducted into the Trenton Baseball Hall of Fame this Saturday, prior to the team's game with the Harrisburg Senators at 7pm.

Franklin will lead the Thunder this weekend, June 5-7, in the absence of Manager Al Pedrique who will be away from the team to attend his daughter's graduation.

"I'm very appreciative of the opportunity I've had to manage the Thunder," said Franklin. "Some of my best memories in baseball came while managing the Thunder, it is truly an honor to be inducted into the Trenton Baseball Hall of Fame."

Franklin is the longest tenured Manager in franchise history and led the Thunder to each of their three championships, 2007, 2008 and 2013. Over his eight seasons at the helm, the Thunder went 635-532 (.544 winning percentage). The 2013 Thunder went 6-0 in the playoffs, making them the league's first team to go undefeated in the post-season since 1991. Overall, the Thunder made the playoffs five times in eight seasons under Franklin and compiled a 26-10 record in post-season play.

On May 9, 2014, Franklin surpassed Dave Machamer as the winningest Manager in Eastern League history, since the league became a Double-A league in 1963, when the Thunder defeated the Reading Fightin Phils 8-2 to give him 564 career victories. Tony won his 1,000th game as a Minor League Manager on July 2, 2012 when the Thunder rallied for a walk-off victory against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

Franklin was named the 2012 Eastern League Manager of the Year and he guided the Thunder to the best record in the league (83-59) in 2010. Four times in his tenure, Franklin served as a coach at the All-Star Futures Game; 2007 in San Francisco, 2008 in St. Louis, 2010 in Anaheim and 2012 in Kansas City.

The former Thunder Manager will become the seventeenth member of the Trenton Baseball Hall of Fame joining George Case, Harold "Bus" Saidt, James Maloney, Al Downing, Steve Braun, Bob Ryan, Tony Clark, Nomar Garciaparra, Samuel Plumeri Sr., Michael DeCello, Mo Cunningham, David Eckstein, Ken Macha, Sonny Pittaro, DeMarlo Hale and Tom McCarthy.
