George Brett to be Keynote Speaker at the "All-Star Spotlight Luncheon"
OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha Storm Chasers are proud to announce that Hall of Fame Kansas City Royals third baseman George Brett will be the keynote speaker at the "All-Star Spotlight Luncheon" presented by SAC Federal Credit Union on July 15. The luncheon is the final event of the "All-Star Week" festivities and the morning before First National Bank 2015 Triple-A All-Star Game.
Brett, the current Vice President of Baseball Operation for Kansas City, is the only Royals player to ever be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame and was the 1980 American League Most Valuable Player. He was named to 13 MLB All-Star Games in his 21-year career, and is the all-time club leader in virtually every offensive category. Brett appeared for the Omaha Royals during the 1973-74 seasons.
The "All-Star Spotlight Luncheon" will take place at the Embassy Suites in La Vista, and will be from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. In addition to Brett's appearance, the event includes an introduction of the All-Star Participants and coaching staff, as well as honorary youth from PlaySmart.
