June 5, 2015

ROUND ROCK, Texas - After spending nearly 20 years at the helm of the baseball program at Alvin Community College, Bryan Alexander will join the Round Rock Express front office as manager of baseball outreach, the team announced Thursday. Alexander will serve as the head instructor of the baseball camps and assist with the organization's community outreach efforts. He will also help with the development and growth of Ryan Sanders Sports Turf Services.

"We're honored to have Bryan join our staff in this capacity," said Chris Almendarez, general manager of the Express. "His vast knowledge of not only the game of baseball but how it impacts and affects the community around it will be a true asset to our staff."

Alexander joined the ACC staff as head baseball coach in 1998. Since then, he's had the privilege of coaching five All-Americans and 25 players who went on to play professional baseball including three major leaguers (Chris Herman, Clay Hensley, Phil Barzilla). He's also seen almost 70 players go on to Division-1 programs. Under his guidance, the ACC Dolphins made 17 Region XIV South regional tournament appearances and one world series appearance.

In addition to heading up the Express' baseball outreach, Alexander will play a role in the expansion of the business footprint of Ryan Sanders Sports Turf Services, which offers a full line of professional services including field renovations, installations, mound re-builds and consulting on any specific turf management issue.

The Santa Fe, TX native is relocating to Round Rock with his wife Elizabeth and two sons, Luke and Cole.
