2015 South Atlantic League All Stars Announced

Four Rome Braves Named to Team
June 9, 2015

Rome's Jordan Edgerton has been selected to replace Connor Spencer on the Southern Division All Star team. Spencer from Charleston will not be available for the All-Star Game due to an injury. Coming into tonight's game, Edgerton is hitting .296 with 3 HR and 42RBI. He's joins four other teammates (Albies, Daris, Kinman, and Beech) as part of this year's South Atlantic League All Stars.

Also representing the Rome Braves will be outfielder Joseph Daris, infielder Ozzie Albies, pitcher Kyle Kinman and pitcher Caleb Beech. Daris is currently hitting .294 with 21 RBI and leads the league with seven triples. Left handed pitcher Kinman is 1-0 with a 1.37 ERA and has eight saves to lead the team. Switch hitting infielder Ozzie Albies is hitting .317 to lead the team (4th SAL), and is first in the league with 71 hits and right handed pitcher Caleb Beech is 5-2, 2.47 ERA, 58.1 IP, 41K, 14 BB.

"This is a great reward for our players," says Rome General Manger Michael Dunn. "We are happy to represent Rome and Northwest Georgia in this season's All Star Game in Asheville." says Rome Braves General Manager Michael Dunn.

McCormick Field will be hosting its third SAL All-Star Game. The first time was in 1977, when the Southern Division beat the Northern Division 8-3. The second time, in 1996, the Northern Division beat the Southern Division 4-3. The annual SAL All-Star Game dates to 1960, when the All-Stars defeated the Salisbury club, 6-2, in Newton, NC.
