Cy Young Winner and Two-Time World Series Champion, Jake Peavy, Scheduled to Start for Sacramento on Thursday
EL PASO - June 8, 2015 - The El Paso Chihuahuas and the Sacramento River Cats will play a four-game series from Thursday, June 11 through Sunday, June 14, at Southwest University Park. The River Cats are the Triple-A affiliate of the 2014 World Series Champion, the San Francisco Giants.
Jake Peavy is slated to start for the River Cats on Thursday. The veteran pitcher has 14 years of Major League Baseball (MLB) experience, is a three-time MLB All-Star and was presented the Cy Young Award in 2007. Peavy won the World Series each of the last two seasons with the Boston Red Sox (2013) and the San Francisco Giants (2014).
The homestand gets started with Thrifty Thursday and YouTube Night. Fans should be ready for some in-game shenanigans inspired by favorite YouTube videos while enjoying $2 specials until 8:30 p.m. Friday is Jurassic Night as we prepare for the summer blockbuster, Jurassic World. Fireworks Spectacular will light up the sky on Saturday with the show synchronized to video game theme songs. Sunday is the Army's Birthday Celebration presented by GECU and the first 2,000 kids 12 & under will receive a kids camo hat.
