Wilmington Blue Rocks to Host Nine Innings of Networking Event
WILMINGTON, DE - The job market can be intimidating and unforgiving, but the Wilmington Blue Rocks are here to help. For the second year in a row, the Blue Rocks will host Nine Innings of Networking, sponsored by Innovincent LLC. The event will take place during the Blue Rocks home game on Wednesday, June 17 against the Salem Red Sox. Nine Innings of Networking aims to connect job seekers to employment opportunities through the many businesses that will be on-hand.
The Blue Rocks will welcome a variety of hiring companies and skill development resources to Frawley Stadium during the June 17 game. Some of the participating companies include Advanced Student Transportation, Capital One, Corporation Service Company/CSC Global, Delaware Department of Labor, Delaware Division of Libraries, Delaware State Police, J.F. Sobieski, Navient, New York Life, Reybold Group, Royal Farms, Synerfac Technical Staffing, and Wilmington VA. These participants will be available throughout the stadium concourse to accept resumes and schedule interviews. They will also have applications available, and may even conduct on-the-spot interviews. Networking opportunities with these companies will remain possible throughout the game.
"I'm happy to be part of a fun and creative recruiting event for applicants and employers hiring here in Delaware," said Charles Vincent, President of Innovincent & co-organizer of the event. "At the Inaugural Nine Innings of Networking last year, the event had a positive economic impact with at least 10 percent of applicants getting interviews from the employers who participated. We hope to do even better this year."
According to the data from last year's employer participants, of the approximately 10 percent of attendees who received interviews, at least 20 percent received offers of employment.
"One main criteria we have for this event is to assemble a good mix of local, reputable, hiring companies as well as community assets for job seekers," said Brian Radle, Director of Advertising Sales for the Blue Rocks. "I believe the lineup we have accomplishes just that and we are proud to collaborate with them on this event. Integrity is a main ingredient and we all have a desire to open doors for local residents to the best of our ability."
A game ticket not only gets you admission into the ballgame, but it also ensures access to the Nine Innings of Networking event that evening. A complimentary ticket to the game and the event is also possible. The first 100 job seekers who bring a copy of their resume to the Nine Innings of Networking check-in table on the front plaza or Stadium Box Office will receive free admission courtesy of Innovincent, LLC.
First pitch of the game on June 17 is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m., which is also when the event will begin. A limited number of spots are available for companies.
