RubberDucks Introduce the "The Delly Dog" to Honor Cleveland Cavaliers Guard Matthew Dellavedova
(Akron, OH) June 11, 2015 - Akron RubberDucks baseball at Canal Park just isn't the same without the introduction of an amazing in-season concessions item, so the team announced "The Delly Dog," honoring Cleveland Cavaliers guard Matthew Dellavedova, who has become a fan favorite in Northeast Ohio with his determination, grit, and playmaking during the Cavaliers' run into the NBA Finals.
"The Delly Dog" features a JUMBO HOT DOG, wrapped in a GRILLED COMBINATION OF HAM, PROVOLONE CHEESE, and SALAMI, topped with STADIUM MUSTARD. "The Delly Dog" will be on sale for $6 starting with tonight's game (5:05 p.m. vs. New Hampshire Fisher Cats) at Godfather's Kitchen concessions stand located behind home plate on the concourse.
Director of Food and Beverage Brian Manning describes the thought process behind "The Delly Dog's" ingredients, "We wanted to include an assortment of 'deli' meat as a fun note, but also show how we are 'ALL IN' by using Northeast Ohio's legendary Stadium Mustard on top to bring it all together."
"We are always looking to keep things new and exciting for fans at Canal Park, whether that is a unique giveaway, our Movie Nights, or a concessions item," said RubberDucks General Manager Jim Pfander. "'Delly's' exciting play has captured blue-collar work ethic of Northeast Ohio, and we thought this was a fun, tasty way to honor him."
Tonight's game is TEACHER APPRECIATION NIGHT where teachers, school staff, and their family and friends can come for just $5 by showing identification at the box office. It is also a D.G. Yuengling THIRSTY THURSDAY with one dollar beer and soft drink specials. Gates open at 4 p.m. and first pitch is scheduled for 5:05 p.m. vs. the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
